Mobley, who led the Trojans to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament, will be in the conversation to be the No. 1 pick when the draft is held in July. In his one season in Los Angeles, he was named Pac-12 Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year — the first Trojan ever to win all three in the same season.

He averaged 16.4 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 33 games.

Mobley was the No. 1 player in the 2020 class — the first top recruit to sign with USC.

He made his announcement on Twitter and added a twist. He turned it into an NFT — a unique digital trading card.

“I’m headed to the league. This has always been my dream and, through this NFT, I’m making my announcement that I’ll officially be turning pro” he wrote. “This right here is the new ‘rookie card’ — and it’s 1-of-1.

“I can’t thank my fans enough. Your support has meant so much to me. I wanted to create this unique and meaningful token for the auction winner to continue to be part of my journey. I’ll also be providing a signed jersey from my college days, a signed jersey from my first professional team as well as two tickets to a game during my rookie year a special meet and greet after the game.”

The NFT auction is set to open Friday and conclude Monday evening.

Mobley’s teammate, 6-foot-2 guard Tahj Eaddy who was named All-Pac-12 Second Team, previously declared for the draft.

The Trojans finished the season with a 25-8 (15-5 Pac-12) record. Mobley scored 17 points in the season finale, an 85-66 loss to Gonzaga in the tournament.
