JAKARTA – The Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) held an audience with the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, who was represented by the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Argo Yuwono. There were several things discussed at the occasion including the commemoration of National Broadcasting Day on March 28-April 1, 2021 in Central Java (Central Java).
Argo conveyed that in connection with the commemoration of National Broadcasting Day, the police, especially the Central Java Regional Police and the Solo Police, will provide security.
“The Solo Police and the Central Java Police have collaborated on security and escort during the implementation of the activity,” said Argo in a written statement, Wednesday (17/3/2021).
In addition to discussing the matter of National Broadcasting Day, Argo also explained a number of Polri activities that are currently being carried out completely online after facing the Covid-19 Pandemic.
The two-star general conveyed about the role and function of the National Police in the success of the national vaccination program to KPI. The reason is, the Bhayangkara Corps is preparing 13,500 vaccinator power and 40,000 Bhabinkamtibmas in charge of carrying out the tracer. “All activities are aimed at accelerating the handling of Covid-19 and the National Economic Recovery,” said Argo.
On the other hand, Argo said, currently the Police also have a Streaming Television Platform, namely Polri TV and Radio which aims to provide information to the public in an updated manner and reduce the spread of unfavorable news.
On that occasion, the Chairman of KPI Agung Suprio explained that this audience activity at the same time conveyed his hope that the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, would be pleased to attend the commemoration of the National Broadcasting Day.
“We really hope the presence of the Chief of Police to be present at the peak of the National Broadcasting Day Commemoration,” he said.
According to Agung, the event is planned to be attended by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo, Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Chairman of Commission I DPR RI Meutya Hafid and television directors.
