Mimika – There are many approaches that can be taken by the police in fostering detainees, such as that of the Head of the Tahti Mimika Police, Ipda, Syahrul Syamsudin at the Mimika Police detention room, Jalan Agimuga No. 03 Timika. Friday (4/3).
Kasat Tahti invites 62 Muslim and Christian prisoners along with 2 prison guard personnel to carry out evening prayer in congregation and morning worship every day for Christian prisoners.
The evening prayer is led by one of the detainees named Normawi, and the Christian religion is led by Andreas, the aims and objectives of evening prayer and morning worship are one of the ways to guide and approach prisoners, they are detained according to the results of their actions, namely committing crimes and based on the law they are guilty so they were detained at the Mimika Police detention house.
“The evening prayer and morning worship activities will continue to be carried out so that when they finish serving their sentence, the hope is that they will be aware and not repeat their actions, because while in detention there is always prayer and morning worship as well as spiritual guidance every day. This is one of the ways to make them aware, not to look at the violations they have committed, but from a spiritual perspective they are God’s most glorious creation, “said Head of Tahti Ipda Syahrul Syamsudin.
