MENLO PARK, California: Facebook managed to resolve a technical problem that triggered a worldwide outage and interruption to its services after one million users encountered difficulties in accessing their photograph-sharing application Instagram.
Facebook’s messaging platforms — Whatsapp and Messenger — also took a beating, with users tweeting about the outage, as #whatsappoutage trended on Twitter across nations, including India.
According to a spokesperson for Facebook, the company has since resolved the problem that had stalled its services.
downdetector.com, which furnishes real-time status and outage data, reported that more than one million individuals cited issues with Instagram, whereas almost 20,000 WhatsApp users reported problems.
