VILLAVICIOSA, Abra, April 15 (PIA) — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Abra Provincial Office continues to provide assistance to Abrenian micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) thru its Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay – Livelihood Seeding Program (NSB-LSP) to provide them opportunities to spur economic activities and help them bounce back from the effects of the pandemic.
The latest beneficiaries under the NSB-LSP are 10 MSMEs from Villaviciosa and 10 from Licuan-Baay. They each received Php 8,000 worth of livelihood package according to his or her existing business venture. The awarded livelihood kits include sari-sari store items, furniture equipment, rolling store, and bakeshop items.
DTI Abra OIC Provincial Director Francis Pacio advised the MSMES make good use and nurture the livelihood packages so that more businesses will continue to grow as contributors in the development of the economy. He added that DTI-Abra will continue to monitor and assist them in their operations.
Before the release of the packages, DTI-Abra staff conducted an entrepreneurial development seminar for the beneficiaries teaching them to become competitive and sustainable MSMEs. Pacio also cited some facts on how the beneficiaries can instill proper entrepreneurial mindsetting in achieving their goals.
Ms. Jujielyn Jizzle Vergara, a sari-sari store package beneficiary from Brgy. Laplapog, Villaviciosa, thanked the government under the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte for the assistance given to her.
“This livelihood kit is of great help especially for those who are just starting their businesses like me,” she said citing that it provides additional capital.
Meanwhile Villaviciosa Senior Administrative Assistant Jaja Biscarra who represented Mayor Jose Lagen Jr. encouraged all beneficiaries to become good steward of the assistance given to them as their counterpart to the initiative of DTI Abra in fostering MSMEs in every municipality.
